About Surf City Sentinel

I’ve been deeply involved in civic activism in Huntington Beach, California, since 2001, starting with environmental issues and then evolving into a city hall watchdog.

I served on the city planning commission for four years, including a year-long stint as chairperson. I ran for city council in 2014, but did not prevail, which turned out to be one of the great blessings in my life, LOL.

Surf City Sentinel started as a Facebook page in 2016 and continues to spotlight civic and political issues on a daily basis. My longer, deeper articles will now debut on Substack.

Whether you love or hate my mix of news and opinion, you can always rest assured that I back it with well-sourced facts.
